Pop Tabs

Each year, over 500 families stay at the Ronald McDonald House while their children receive medical care in Toledo. Thanks to our friends in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan, RMHC collected nearly 29,000 pounds of pop tabs in 2009 from schools, churches, libraries, factories, hospitals, service organizations, and local communities! With the money earned by recycling the tabs, RMHC is able to provide meals to all our guests at no charge!

Here's how it works. Pull the tabs off aluminum cans and save them. Then, as tabs accumulate, deliver them to the Ronald McDonald House at 3883 Monroe Street in Toledo or your local McDonald's Restaurant. We'll sell them to a recycling station for the market price of recycled aluminum. So start saving those tabs today!

Why save just the tabs instead of the whole cans? The tab of an aluminum can is pure aluminum unlike the rest of the can, which contains paint and other residue. Tabs are convenient to store and to transport, they take up less space than cans do, and they aren't as messy as cans are.
